Patten & Prentice have been established as solicitors in Greenock for over 130 years with an extensive family and commercial practice and a wide client base throughout Scotland and beyond. We pride ourselves on the personal attention we devote to all our work and on the high quality of legal services we provide in a friendly and approachable manner.

We continue our investment in the most modern technology to assist in the delivery of a speedy and efficient service to all our clients large and small, corporate or individual.

At Patten & Prentice, you will receive a first class service. Your file will be supervised personally by one of our partners from the start to the finish of your business. We cover all the principal areas of the law and a few more besides - from civil court work to family mediation, from agriculture and crofting to all aspects of housing association business, from tax and investment to employment and debt recovery, from estate planning and trusts to simple will writing, and from council house purchases and domestic conveyancing to commercial leasing. Your business is our concern. We help you to put all the pieces in place.

Our five partners all now work in Greenock but all have previous experience working with other firms in Glasgow. They each have their own specialist areas but deliberately retain a breadth of expertise which allows us to organise ourselves to respond creatively to clients’ needs in an efficient and cost effective manner and we are supported fully in this by our committed and experienced staff.

The firm believes in the benefits of lifelong learning and our team includes executry, civil court, debt recovery and tax paralegals and IT administrators, all headed up by our accountant, Bill Cameron.
